Nassarawa Governor, Tanko Al Makura , yesterday  met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over the recent clashes between farmers and herdsmen in parts of Benue and his state,Leadership Newspapers Reports.


The meeting held behind closed- doors at the Vice President’s office in Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking with State House correspondents after the meeting, the governor disclosed that he was also discussing with his Benue counterpart on the need for a joint action between the two states in order to stem the tide of insecurity orchestrated by Fulani cattle rearers and some communities in the two states.

He said: “I have  discussed with Mr. Vice President about the security situation in my state and what effort we are making to bring everything to sanity.

“Also, I am making effort with my colleague, the Governor of Benue state in having a joint effort to see what we can do to ensure that these long standing communal clashes between Funlanis and farmers , Agatus in Nassarawa and Agatus in Benue to see that we will find a lasting solution to it.”
