Obasanjo aide asks CBN research intervention for apple, others


The former Special Assistant (SA) to president
  Olusegun Okiki Obasanjo, on food security matter , and presently a board member, National Apple Farmers, Processors  and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NAFPMAN) Prof. Olumide Makinde has appealed  Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to provide a  special intervention fund for research development so as to reduce gestation periods of crops like apple fruit towards achieving sustainable foods system freed of import bill.

FG promises support to apple productivity, institutes 7man committee


The Federal Government (FG) has advised the stakeholders of apple produce to steadfastly focus in putting a well structured association that cut across the six geo-political zones so as to be able to benefit from many Government programmes and support to increase productivity towards import mitigation and more economic earnings, just as seven man committee was constituted to draft a comprehensive constitution within one month.
