PRESS RELEASE - Beware of False Onset of Rains-NiMet Cautions Farmers

Covid-19 stalls sorghum export, says ICRISAT representative


The Country Representative, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) Dr. Hakeem Ajeigbe has attributed the restriction movement in compliance to covid 19 protocol as the reason why plans to export sorghum last year was scuttled, adding that Nigeria is now  80% sufficient in production.

Gov. Wike condemns politicising Agriculture


Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of River State has asked the Federal Government (FG) to stop politicising Agriculture, saying there was no reflection of any rural road being constructed by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) in his state, just as there no impact of anchor borrower of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), through its communication office has credited itself for the injection of 50,000 metric tons of maize into the market to step down price from N200.000.00 to N180.000.00 per ton.
