The chairman, committee constituted to organise the General Assembly of Farmers (GAF) Bar. Ademola Okeya has said the venue for the congress would soon be announced, but advised that election into new executive posts of the association should try to avoid contempt of court in its plan to organize an election.
Bar. Okeya in a chat with Food Farm News on telephone last Friday and today said that the hosting of GAF in last February as earlier scheduled was not feasible for venue constraint, but stressed that the final arrangement has been concluded to hold the farmers congress as the venue would be communicated as soon as is cleared by the National President, Kabiru Ibrahim.
According to him ‘’we are thinking of February but it is obvious that February is not feasible. We are supposed to have informed everybody who are entitled to attend the GAF. Apart from this, the case pending in court for hearing on 15th of March must be considered in our preparation to election so as to avoid court contempt by not conducting election when the final judgement has not been given’’
Meanwhile the chairman of committee organizing AFAN election scheduled for March, Alhaji Mall Muazu Ishaq has said a full detailed of the outcome of its meeting would be given by the time it is ready when the secretary would have complied the meetings of the meeting, adding that comprehensive discussion on the election was deliberated on the zoning of the new executive positions.
