Having identified round tripping as one major challenge in the 2023 dry season wheat planting through the National Agricutural Growth Scheme -Agro Pocket ( NAGS-AP) program, the Federal Government (FG) through the national and states working committees has decided to take the following underlisted steps to ensuring better inputs delivery for maize, rice and cassava.

Breaking News: FG releases ten seed varieties
The Federal Government (FG) Varietal Release Committee (VRC) now chaired by Prof. Olusoji Olufajo has officially registered and released about (10) seed varieties from wheat, maize and potato for more food productivity towards economic empowerment of farmers with food surplus to Nigerians.

Maize: Farmers move to crash price, plan to unveil Pyramid
The Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN) has disclosed that the association is working towards ensuring that the price of maize is crashed across the country to meet the demand for consumption and industrial use, just as there are ongoing plan to unveil maize pyramid in Kaduna.

As farmer Ahiaba Sylvanus recalls, it never used to be necessary to spray maize, millet, and guinea corn with pesticides in the Nigerian state of Kaduna, where he lives. 50,000mt maize into market reduces price, say CBN
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), through its communication office has credited itself for the injection of 50,000 metric tons of maize into the market to step down price from N200.000.00 to N180.000.00 per ton.

FG plans to release imported maize into market
There are great indications that the Federal Government (FG) will soon release about 262,000 metric tons of maize into the market to reduce the current price of N155, 000 per ton to One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (120,000.00). This was yesterday reported at 7’ O’clock news in the African Independent Television (AIT).
