OPINION WRITTEN BY AFAN PRESIDENT: THE SEARCH FOR FOOD SECURITY IN NIGERIA NEEDS A UNIFIED FRONT TO BE SUSTAINABLE.

The declaration of State of emergency on food security made Nigerian farmers albeit all Nigerians to  breath a sigh of relief and it portended the end of the insecurity bedeviling the  North East, North West, North Central and all other parts of Nigeria.

AFAN president Arc Kabir Ibrahim says ‘’IT IS ALMOST ARMAGEDDON IN NIGERIA AS CLIMATE CHANGE, ABSENCE OF FOCUSED FOOD SYSTEM GOVERNANCE AND INCESSANT INSECURITY THREATEN THE SEARCH FOR FOOD SECURITY’’

When in 2015 the APP(Agricultural Promotion Policy) aka Green Alternative was unveiled by the Buhari Administration Nigerians heaved a sigh of relief hoping that the full implementation of the  policy will ensure the proper diversification of the economy and therefore make Nigeria more prosperous.
