FACAN mourns former AFAN president

 

All the membership,  Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association of Nigeria (FACAN) has expressed its deep sorrow over the sudden death of the former All Farmers Association of Nigeria ( AFAN), late Architect Kabiru Ibrahim just as he was described as a person who lived his life for Agricultural development in Nigeria.

This was stated in the tribute written by the national president of FACAN, Alhaji Sheriff Balogun for the former AFAN president, Architect Kabiru Ibrahim after receiving the news of his death.

Balogun wrote that "The Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations of Nigeria has received, with great sorrow, news of the death of our brother and friend, Arch. Kabiru Ibrahim, former National President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and President of the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG)"

In the tribute, Ibrahim was described as someone who lived his life for agricultural development in Nigeria as he led AFAN with purpose, giving Nigerian farmers a stronger voice both at home and international levels.

The tributes credited late Architect Ibrahim as someone who carried the same passionate conviction in farming to the leadership of the Nigeria Agribusiness Group, where he worked to bridge the gap between the farms and markets. He is said to be a close associate of FACAN with a central voice among Nigerian agricultural stakeholders for farmers' development and interest.

" I must add that this loss is deeply personal to me. Arch was a dear brother. Beyond the boardrooms and the conferences we shared, he was someone I could call on at any hour, whose honesty I relied upon and whose friendship I treasured. I have lost not only a colleague in the struggle for Nigerian agriculture, but a brother in the truest sense of the words.

" The National Executive Council, our commodity associations, and the entire FACAN family stand with the Ibrahim family in this hour of grief. We extend our deepest sympathy to his relatives, his colleagues, the leadership and members of AFAN, and the Nigeria Agribusiness Group.

" We ask Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and admit him into Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May He grant his family, friends, and the agricultural community the fortitude to bear this loss"
