Re-elect oil Palm president assures Nigeria a better productivity

 


The re- elected president of National Palm Produce Association of Nigeria ( NPPAN), Ambassador Alphonsus Inyang has promised to put the crop's productivity to an enviable position among the comity of producing countries on the globe.


Ambassador Alphonsus Inyang made this statement at the last Friday concluded AGM meeting that preceded his reelection without any opposition along other executives.



Inyang said the distance 5th position of Nigeria in the oil palm producing countries of the world would soon become a thing of the past as the executives of the association are doubling effort to put the produce on sustainable productivity position through a legislative Act that was still a work in progress towards giving birth to a regulatory oil palm agency.


 He added that necessary papers to achieve its implementation are already before appropriate committee at the National Assembly complex where appropriate language will be applied to expedite legislation action.


Also NPPAN president said that the local production acceleration process through being a member to the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries ( CPOPC), an international organization founded by Indonesia and Malaysia towards collective efficiency to promote its global use, and development of biomass where the waste of palm produce will be turned to wealth are also work in progress.


The president emphasized billions of Naira that would be saved through derivation of aviation fuel from the waste of palm kernel coupled jobs creation such opportunity would bring into the country.


He thanked all the delegates that entrusted the leadership of the association once again into his hand without any opposition as being very responsive to the sector's development saying this has distinct the association from the usual tussles that are common to many other associations during election.


He also thanked the partnering ministries, research Institute, agencies, media and Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations of Nigeria ( FACAN) ably represented by the National Deputy President South East, Chief Michael Awunor and currently the President, National Mushroom Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria for their ever green support.


Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment ( FMITI) schedule officer for oil Palm, Mrs Gambo Mugaji congratulated the re elected officers, promised the ministry readiness to work with them.
