The Federal Government ( FG) through its Agriculture Ministry has announced the preparation for 2026 world food day celebration slated for October 16.
Activities lined up to mark the event being organized by Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) in partnership with United Nation, Food and Agriculture Organization ( FAO) and other partners includes the visit to farm cluster, internally displaced persons, walk& sensitization road exercise, ministerial press briefing, and dialogue session on food security with agribusiness mechanization clinic.
The letter sent out for the local planning committee inauguration by the director, planning and policy coordination, Mrs. Nasiru Samaila for the world food day stated that this year's celebration will mark the 81st anniversary by the FAO, while Nigeria observes the 46th editions with the " Innovation Today, Nourish Tomorrow"
World Food Day celebration is to heighten public awareness on the nature and dimension of global food challenges, develop strategies and action plans to combat hunger, malnutrition and poverty with an enhanced access to safe food, nutrition and affordable food for all.
