The 48th Regular Meeting of the National Council on Agriculture and Food Security (NCAFS) may have been slated to take place in the first week of November 2026.
The meeting is expected to be held in Enugu State being the host who has to make provision for logistics for the expected delegates from other states of the federation.
Although Food Farm News gathered that the event is still subject to availability of funds and the readiness of the host state as regards logistics provision.
A reliable source told us that preparation for the council meeting was still subject to the availability of funds especially from the state hosting for the year 2926.
Another source who spoke to Food Farm News said the meeting is tentatively scheduled for 2nd to 6th November, 2026, in Enugu State believing there will be funds to carry out the meeting.
The National Council on Agriculture and Food Security is an apex decision taking body chaired by the Minister of FMAFS where approvals are given to agricultural programs towards food security for the existing year.
The last council meeting was held November 2025 in Kaduna State where the Minister of agriculture with other states' commissioners gathered to take decisions on critical areas of food security with resolution to hold this year s meeting in Enugu.
