The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) has organized a capacity-building retreat for its directors and heads of departments as part of efforts to enhance leadership effectiveness and accelerate the agency’s mandate.
The three-day retreat, themed “Leading Nigeria’s Agricultural Revolution: Steering NALDA Towards Excellence (From Vision to Abundance Creating Strategic Alignment to Drive Results and Scale Impact)”, was held in Lagos and brought together key management staff of the Authority.
Speaking at the opening session, NALDA’s Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Cornelius Adebayo, said the initiative was designed to align the agency’s leadership with its ongoing and future projects. He noted that the programmes being executed by the Authority are critical to Nigeria’s economic growth and food security goals.
According to him, the retreat provided an opportunity to clearly communicate NALDA’s short, medium, and long-term strategies, ensuring that top officials are well-positioned to drive implementation effectively.
Adebayo emphasized that the exercise would help instill a culture of excellence and shared responsibility among the leadership team. He expressed confidence that stronger collaboration and unified commitment would enable the Authority to significantly transform Nigeria’s agricultural sector and contribute to lifting millions out of poverty.
He also urged participants to embrace continuous learning, adopt innovative approaches, and strengthen interdepartmental synergy to improve service delivery.
At the end of the retreat, participants pledged to apply the knowledge and strategies gained to enhance operational efficiency and deliver on NALDA’s mandate.
