Kano Supports Grazing Reserve

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
Kano State government has said that it would support current effort by the Federal Government to carve out grazing reserve for herdsmen across the country.

Director of Press to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Aminu Yassar, told Vanguard on phone that the idea, which was borrowed from Kano, remained the best step towards addressing incessant clash between farmers and herdsmen.

Yassar said: "The whole concept of grazing reserve was an idea muted by Kano State government as a proactive step to resolve the incessant clash between herdsmen and farmers, and we are fully behind the Federal Government."

Yassar explained that several grazing reserve had been earmarked along cattle routes scattered across the state for effective coordination.
