*Express sadness
The former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh was said to have died last Saturday at the age of 78, just as he expressed sadness for non concrete plan to make the youths employed.
A call to one of his close associates confirmed the death to FoodFarmNews.
Chief Audu Ogbeh a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, was notably conspicuous in the media for his policy to ensure enough pasture food for animals through grass seeds importation for local planting and multiplication towards sufficiency.
In an interview Ogbeh granted to Trust Television before his death, which was anchored by Kabiru Yusuf, he expressed sadness towards the future in Nigeria due to no concrete plan to ensure the youths' engagement in rural areas as being done in India, saying our local governments need to be economically viable.
" I am sad because youths cannot earn enough. Go to the villages and see what makes people strong or weak. My son and I traveled to India in the South West, where the local government chairman posted having 1000 industries. How does India do it that Nigeria cannot? These young men have to be employed" he said.
Ogbeh was appointed Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development by late President Mohammadu Buhari on November 11, 2015. He served in this capacity till May 28, 2019.
