In a bit to ensure standard of
agricultural produce in Nigeria, the United Nations Industrial Development
Organization (UNIDO) has set up a technical support programme that will
resuscitate and extablish zonal commodities certification centres with both the
federal Ministries of Agriculture, and Trade and Investment being the co-chair.
This development is unveiled by the
Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) as some amount
running to twenty million have been budget for the national advocacy on agricultural
quality control and standardization tagged Agro Zero Reject Initiative) as
media tour will be embarked upon from July to August as kano, Enugu, Port
Harcourt and Lagos have been penciled down.
