* Farmers' day fixed for October

The recently held National executive meeting of All farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN) chaired by its President, Architect Kabiru has unanimously agreed to extend hands of friendship to all other members especially the Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations (FACAN), for the constitution of the association makes provision for it.

It was agreed that the constitution of the Association automatically makes any chairman of commodity association the Vice National President in AFAN which all other members must align with so as to allow large space for the association in playing its advocacy role for better and best agricultural practice towards food security as regards accelerated production.

AFAN President, Architect Kabiru implored all the states ‘chairmen to reach more to other grassroots farmers regardless of their affiliation so as to be able to benefit in the collective opportunity as members of the Non-Governmental Association (NGO) emphasizing on the need for registration.

The Executives deliberate on the forth coming farmers’ day celebration asking members to mobilize themselves for the day to make great as world food day and National agric show will be run in one day back to back.

Already the FMARD with other stakeholders are already in talk towards the preparation for the success of the event.
