The 4th National Commodity Growers, Processors and Buyers Forum

The 4th National Commodity Growers, Processors and Buyers Forum with the theme " sustainable  market opportunities in agriculture materials for stakeholders in the North Central and South western states in Nigeria held at National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) Ilorin was very eventful as stakeholders were admonished to take the advantage of present economic repositioning of agriculture commercialization by the FG with upper priority using the best agronomics practices and value addition through processing for maximum market advantages for both local and international markets. Stakeholders are taken through some of the available simple farming and processing machines available at NCAM for off takers.


 In his words, the Director General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Dr. Nasiru Kasan Mohammed ably represented said that " In view of the growth and likely socio-economic impact, specifically employment and income generation, the agricultural revolution currently being under taken by the Federal Government will surely give rise to the need for post harvest management on the account of poor post harvest management the losses in farm produce is usually high" adding that the losses could be brought down to less than 30 percent of the existing wastages through proper transfer and adoption of modern processing technologies.

 However, the NCAM Executive Director, Engr. Kasali who took the stakeholders round the centres' available farming and processing equipment said the centres would be ready to partner with FACAN in its mandate to ensure food security and wealth creation through effective fabrications machines that will remove drudgery in productivity.

Present are the Government representatives from both the Federal and state governments. The pictures below speak volume. The meeting continue today, while communique will be issued.
