Agric universities: FG allays administrative, funding fear.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), has doused the administrative and funding fears exhibited by the three returning nation's universities of Agriculture saying its relocation is meant for better re-positioning of the sector.


The  Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh during a Press conference held today assured the institutions of his commitment to ensure that the  universities are made proactive to achieve their original purposes to economic growth and recovery plan of the present administration for the sector adding that plans are already on ground to ensure proper funding of the institutions for better attainment of its mandate towards producing refined agriculturists.



Chief Ogbeh further added that the ministry is set to use the agricultural academic as a main tool to solve the problems of the sector just as he allayed the panic in the students and lectures, promising that no program will be cancel by the federal government decision.

The returning universities while responding to the Ogbeh's remark, disclosed their readiness to make agriculture the leading aspect of the  economy, through positive thinking and effective work to re positioning the institutions as the fore runners of the present administration's agricultural mandate, as they also hoped to work together to embrace all aspect of its value chains, to boost productivity in forestry, horticulture, crop and livestock production.
