IBB son chairs Bank of Agric

 

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen Abubakar Kyari, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Sen.Dr Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi and Chairman, Board of Bank of Agriculture, Alhaji Muhammad Babangida, during the inauguration ceremony.


The first son of the former Military Head of states, General Mohamed Babagida, retired has been officially empowered to chair the newly constituted board of directors of the Bank of Agriculture ( BOA).

This announcement was made in a press release made available to journalists after the ceremony being officiated by the Minister of Agriculture and Food security, Sen Abubarka Kyari on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Kyari in the statement advised the directors to ensure the rebuilding of the bank to a more enviable status so as to be able to achieve the renewed hope of President Tinubu through comprehensive agric financing at all the value chains of food productivity.

The Minister in the statement pointed that the days of fragmented agricultural financing is gone saying that the bank must align with the special agro industrial processing zones, the value chain development program with International Fund for Agricultural Development ( IFAD) and the World Bank Financed AGROW program.

"The market is available. What is left is for you to establish strong processes and procedures that will ensure the bank delivers financing to genuine farmers and value actors in production, processing and transportation" Kyari said in the statement 

He stated further that the government believed in the capacity of all the board directors especially in the re-positioning of the agric bank to meet the productivity reality of today's economy.

Other board of directors are Mr. Ayodeji Oludare Sotinrin as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer; Hajiya Fatima Garba as Executive Director, Corporate Services; Mr. Hakeem Oluwatosin Salami as Executive Director, Operations and Information Technology; Hajiya Ka’amuna Ibrahim Khadi as Executive Director, Risk Management; and Alhaji Rabiu Idris Funtua, Mr. Kpochi Donald Iorgyer, Alhaji Aminu Malami Mohammed, Mr. Oladejo Odunuga, and Mr. Charles Amuchienwa as Non-Executive Directors
