President Buhari may have sacked NIRSAL MD

There is great indication that President Mohammadu Buhari may have finally sacked the Managing Director (MD) of Nigeria Incentive -Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending ( NIRSAL) Mr. Aliyu Abdulhameed for yet to clear fraud allegations.

This incident is said to have occurred last Thursday as the MD was being ousted out of the office premises based on directives from the presidency.

Food Farm News's  call to a very reliable source in the Villa said he too was just reading it on one national newspaper, and that he's yet to categorically confirm the news, but promised it would soon be confirmed.

Although a lot of outcry over fraud allegations have in the past been levelled against the operations of NIRSAL just as is being described too secretive and very suspicious of no clear dealing with farmers and other stakeholders.

We gathered that investigations on many matters of fraud allegations may have indicted the NIRSAL MD as many of their transactions are not transparent enough to give a clean slate of dealings.

There are allegations of NIRSAL involvement in inputs provision and even mechanization connival with a lot of money being expended even on oversea trips that were not necessary.

Recalls that the National Assembly had in time past vowed to drag NIRSAL officials to either Independence Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission ( ICPC) and Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for non compliance to technical procurement procedure standard of quality seeds to farmers through the registered companies that could be tracked to save farmers from incurring great loses.

  1. I felt sorry for the MD and was worried when those who ran the Mechanization program in Nigeria to support farmers turned to him to court him in phantom ideas I knew he might not survive it
