NISS Registrar emerges as International president of soil sciences


The Nigeria Registrar of Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS) Prof. Victor Chude has emerged the new President of the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) with its Headquarters at Vienna, Austria.

This is the first time in the 98 years of the IUSS that a Nigerian in person of Prof. Victor Chude is becoming the president through an election, and he will be serving in the position for the next three years (2023-20260) as being stated in the congratulatory message of the outgoing president, Dr. Laura Bertha Reyes Sanchez.

Both the presidents of NISS Prof. Ayoade Ogunkunle, and his colleague Prof. Jibril M. Jubril of Soil Science Society of Nigeria have sent their congratulatory messages as reported by Zaccheau Babalola of radio Nigeria.
