FG vaccinates 30 cows against diseases in North Central


The Federal Government (FG) through its  ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has launched the vaccination of animals across the six geo- political zones of the federation starting with thirty (30)cows in Abuja, for North Central.


This event took place at Area 10 pavilion, opposite Radio House, Abuja last week Thursday.


The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Mohamood Abubakar on the occasion said that the animals vacination in  the region was key to checkmate trans boundary diseases from affecting animals towards effective healthy products production for humans consumption.


Dr. Mohammad Abubakar disclosed that the exercise would enhance the health of the animals for quality consumables  such as milk, cheese, meat, hides and skin.


Abubakar emphasized on the need to support the sub sector towards better positioning for employment to huge numbers of Nigerians added the right placement of milk productivity would boost our job and wealth creation.  

He pointed that livestock sector provides lot of premium products benefit, even as the waste stands as manure for crops production.

Agric Minister stressed that to achieve success in the livestock sector the need for issues of trans boundary disease and epidemic to be taken very seriously.

Speaking with Food Farm News at the event a herder Abubakar Gumi said that the effort put in place by the FG would further reduce rate of animals sickness through trans boundary diseases being contacted through movement about.


Gumi stressed that for the sector to grow as being expected,  things must be done in a civilized way like other advanced countries of the world.
