The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security ( FMAFS) has initiated a plan to hand over all Agricultural inputs and equipment in its care to farmers henceforth.
The new Permanent Secretary ( PS) of the Ministry, Dr. Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi disclosed this during a workshop organized for agric correspondence last week in Abuja.
Ogunbiyi said the ministry would soon launch a new initiative whereby all available inputs and equipment in all the ministry's possession shall be handed to farmers to boost food productivity across the country.
He tagged the initiative as an " Operation Empty the Stores" which is a program that would focus on distributing modern agricultural inputs and equipment to farmers in order to ensure they were not confined in the warehouses without being put into use.

Speaking on media, he said that “We recognize that a well-informed media is essential to promoting a better understanding of the agricultural sector and its impact on our nation’s development"

The plans are truly commendable, we pray for it's actualization,it is first of its kind in the history of this country, stakeholders are looking up to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and food security for the actualization of this laudable initiative
