FACAN scribe, others thank Buhari for Agric fund act

The National Secretary, Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association of Nigeria (FACAN) Dr. Bello Nuhu Dogongaji

The National Secretary, Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association of Nigeria (FACAN), Hon. ( Dr.), Bello Nuhu Dogondaji has joined other Nigerian farmers to salute President Mohammadu Buhari for signing into an Act a bill seeking to establish a fund to provide a timely financial intervention to the need of the food sector’s development in Nigeria.

Hon. Bello Dogondaji was among Nigerians who have expressed their appreciation on the sensitivity of President Buhari to have signed into law the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) bill.

Dogondaji like other farmers, commended Mr. President's commitment to agricultural development since his arrival as the head of government in Nigeria, saying this is what has endeared him into the heart of farmers and other agricultural stakeholders in the sector.

He thanked him for his practical love for the sector with significant impact on food productivity to checkmate import bill, stating that '‘in deed PMB has demonstrated in practical terms his commitment to the agricultural sector of our economy. There cannot be a nation without food. We will recall as he came in that he launched Anchor Borrower Program at Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. ABP has changed the production output of farmers, especially smallholders that aggregate significantly to our Gross Domestic Products (GDP)’’

FACAN scribe continues '‘ we also recorded significant savings of foreign exchange arising from reduction of importation of rice, maize, soya beans, fish etc. Now baba is going, and he is giving a parting gift to Nigerian farmers by signing of this National Agricultural Development Fund bill into law. We say thank you Baba, and a big congratulation to Nigerian farmers’’

Other who wants his name not mentioned said that the NADF must not be hijacked by selfish people as he commended the president saying '‘This is marvelous. It must not be allowed to be hijacked by non-farmers’’

Another farmer said that the name of President Buhari would forever be remembered for his good deed in this sector, especially with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Anchor Borrower Programme (ABP) that has financially empowered farmers in some major food crops thereby saying that the signed Act was ‘’ indeed a very patriotic and honest approach to true agricultural revolution to achieving food security of the nation. PMB is a true patriot to this nation; his name will remain fresh in the heart of true Nigerians for time immemorial’’
