AFAN BOT member dead



A member, Board of Trustee ( BOT) to All Farmers Association of Nigeria ( AFAN) Dr. Mustapha Shettima is dead.

This was announced in a press statement made available to us today by AFAN office under the leadership of Architect Kabir Ibrahim.


The statement said that "It is with a sense of loss and great pain that I announce the death of our BOT member, Dr Shettima Mustafa, which took place a few minutes ago"


" Preparations to take his body to Maiduguri for Islamic funeral rites are underway at the moment. AFAN considers the death of one of its founders as an irreparable loss"


"The sacrifice he made in the Agriculture space will forever be remembered and cherished" said the statement 

"AFAN prays for the repose of his soul and pray to Allah to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss"


Dr. Shettima was an active member of AFAN, a BOT,  and a position he held till death. He had a stint of academy as a researcher at Institute of Agricultural Research (IAR), Zaria. He was once a minister of Agriculture under former President Ibrahim between 1990-1992. He was reappointed into Federal Executive Cabinet under late president Shehu Yar'Adua as defence and interiors federal ministries before former President Goodluck Jonathan desolved them.

  1. May Almighty God grant his soul best part of Aljenant filgose and pray the AFAN and the Entire Nigerian Farmers the firtitude to bear this ireparable lost,and guide against nearest future occurence.
