Dr. Gwarzo while inaugurating the executive committee members charged them to work together as a team towards increasing cashew productivity with expansion of the market frontiers, saying this would be more achievable now that the rancour between the outgoing and incoming executives of the association have been resolved.
Speaking at the event, the outgoing president of NCAN, Mr. Tola Faseru said there would be no reason for fraction in the association any more, as he advised the incoming president to bring everyone together so as to make the cashew sector the best for all and sundry, just as he pledged his support for the new executives to speak in one voice.
The president, Ajanaku in his remark commended the effort of the immediate past executives, saying that his administration would embrace inclusive method of running the association with all members to ensure the global growth of the produce through value addition towards job and wealth creation in Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary, Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations (FACAN), Prince Peter Bakare who represented the President, Dr. Victor Iyama enjoined members of the association to work harder to ensure increase in cashew productivity, just as he commended the FMITI PS sagacity to ensure peaceful transmission of leadership between the old and new executives, stressed that such character display was highly commendable.
In another development, Hon. Ajanaku has distance himself from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), West Africa and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) recently signed by the two, saying he intentionally absent himself from the meeting because he would not want to be part to an agreement that the contents of the agreement was not properly briefed to his Association.
