Nigeria host 3rd African Horticultural Congress next month


International Society for Horticultural Science

Nigeria will host the 3th All African Horticultural Congress talk that comes up between 7th-12 of August 2016 at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.


The theme of this congress is “Horticulture for improved livelihood” as about 18 countries from Africa and others continents are expected to be present for the one week event.

Part of the topical issues expected at the event includes-
-Government policy and Agricbusiness Development

-Biotechnology, Genetic improvement and Seed System

-Nutritional, Recreation and Health 

-Climate Change, Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies along the value Chain

-Post Harvest handling

Higher Education, Extension and gender Issues
-Integrated Pest and Diseases Management
-Indigenous and Underexploited Fruit and Vegetable
-Urban and Organic Horticulture.

Already first and second editions of this congress had been held in Kenya and South Africa respectively in the past according from the information released from National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT).

It's going to be a little more than the talk, talk....
