Nigeria Cassava growers Association (NCGA) has sent a passionate plea to Federal Government requesting the release of fund meant for the aspect of processing through cottage development in the rural areas saying this would checkmate market challenges of farmers.

The association who believes that a cassava development commission be formed for the purpose of proper appropriation of the produce’s derivatives in the interest of food security and industrial uses pointed that money meant for cottage processing factory be released to checkmate post market challenges presently confronting farmers in Nigeria..

The NCGA is pleading to the Minister of Agriculture to prevail on Bank of Industry (BOI) to release the 1 billion naira cassava cottage fund saying the money is meant to set up processing factory at the rural areas across the Federation. They wondered while BOI was holding unto the money without using it for the purpose meant for.
