9th livestock varietal sub committee charges breeders for registration


The 9th meeting of the Technical Sub Committee ( TSC) on livestock has advised many corporate organizations in livestock and fish farming to embrace registration of their various breeds in animals, birds and fishes.

Okere has posited the need to embrace the use of Varietal Release Portal ( VRP) in the process of seeds commercialization in Nigeria just as the need for train the trainers was also suggested by the Chairman, Technical Sub- Committee on Naming, Registration and Release in Nigeria.

Why Crops Technical Sub- Committee declined IAR barley candidates

The members of the technical sub committee on crop varieties yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo state refused to take requests of four barley candidates from the Institute for Agricutural Research (IAR) for official release., reason being lacking collaboration with the Institute that has the genetic crop mandate.
