NSPRI gets certification to manage post harvest losses

 

Director, Agric. Land and Climate Change Management Services, Engr Shehu Bello, receiving the Certificate of Accreditation on behalf of the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) has been accredited a certificate of International Standard Organization (ISO)to manage post harvest losses of agricultural produce running to N3.5 trillion annually.

Sunflower: Nigeria has USD3.5B to gain in export



The President, National Sunflower Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NSUNGPMAN) Alhaji Jibril Bukar has said that sunflower seed and other processed derivatives  have potentials to generate a total of $3.5 billion at the breakdown of USD1.5 and USD2 billion respectively if all logistics is properly put in place. Alhaji Jibril Bukar stated this in a remark made at stakeholders round table meeting held recently at the Raw Material Research and Development Council (RMRDC) in Abuja.

NISS Registrar endorses GMO seeds for farmers


Soil expert, Registrar/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS), Prof  Victor Chude has endorsed Genetically Modified (GM) seeds for the use of farmers to enhance high yield production towards food security.
