Mango farmers appeal for friendly policy, commend training on standard




The President, National Association of Mango Producers, Processors and Marketers of Nigeria (NAMPPMAN) Hon.  Abdulkadir Andaje Nasir has called on the Government affiliated agencies in the mango value chains not to be too rigid in their approach to the development of the produce for local and international consumptions, just as he commended the training given on production standard.

Sokoto IFAD officer decries fertilizer sky rock by agro dealers



A staff of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Sokoto State, Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru Sanni has passionately condemned the activities of agro dealers through artificial scarcity of urea fertilizer, and uncontrollable increase in price from N7, 800 to N11, 800 in just one week.  Alhaji Sanni revealed this through a telephone conversation with Food Farm News yesterday.

Minister, ARCN say research findings are not on shelves, commend animal college on food security

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Nanono in agreement with the Executive Secretary (ES), Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) Prof.  Garba Sharubutu have both disagreed with the general assumption of many research findings that are said to be on the shelves of research Institutes, just as they commended the  Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology for its contribution to food security through generation of  skilful manpower into animal and livestock value chains productivity since inception about 57 years.

Shea nuts/butter approve for trading on exchange floor, says Nat. President


The National President of National Shea Products Association of Nigeria (NASPAN), Mohammed Ahmed Kontagora has said that the two derivatives from shea ( nuts and butter) would soon join other agricultural commodities being traded on the floor of Exchange Commission.  

Farmers ask President Buhari for fertilizer rescue against 2021 rainy season

The Nigerian farmers have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to make provision for fertilizer availability through the flagship of Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI) for year 2021 rainy season farming towards ensuring food security saying importation of the products must be totally discouraged.

NAIC pays N848 million to farmers as claims last year



The Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) has revealed the payment of Eight Hundred and Forty Eight Million (N848, 000,000.00) as insurance claims to its insured farmers in the year 2020.

PRESS RELEASE - Beware of False Onset of Rains-NiMet Cautions Farmers


The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has advised farmers in the North-central zone of the country and particularly Nassarawa, Niger, Benue, Abuja and neighbouring state like Kaduna against hasty planting in order to avoid losses due to the false onset of rains recorded.
