Sudan Executive Director undertakes familiarization mission

On Friday, September 23, 2016, the African Development Bank’s Executive Director (ED) for Sudan, Kwabena Boadu Oku-Afari, concluded a three-day familiarization mission to Sudan. ED Oku-Afari represents a constituency of five countries at the Bank, comprising Sudan, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana and Gambia. This mission sought to acquaint him with firsthand knowledge of developments in Sudan as well as the state of the Bank’s development operations in the country.

Friday, September 18, 2015 will be remembered as a landmark date in CĂ´te d’Ivoire for the state visit paid by the Ivorian President and a truly special Council of Ministers held in Abengourou (in IndĂ©niĂ©-Djuablin region, in the centre-east of the country). What’s more, the meeting approved a progress report on implementation of the project to support agricultural infrastructure in the IndĂ©niĂ©-Djuablin region (PAIA-ID).

Nigeria's economic downturn this year has elicited some, some would say, haphazard policies from the Central Bank of Nigeria. The CBN's decision to ban several import items from accessing the official forex, and then the devaluation of the naira were seen by many as misinformed and wrong. However, there seem to be at least two local manufacturing companies in Nigeria benefiting from the policies.
