Message to the new Ministers of Agriculture

A visit to all research Institutes will properly give an insight to why we are food deficient. The Moorplantation Cereal Research Institute at Ibadan that house many Federal government projects is
really an eye sore and the environment speak volume of the challenges in the sector despite the huge revenue from crude oil that can be used to make many agricultural research Institutes function to capacity. We really lack maintenance culture for everything in this country.

Who do we really blame for all these deplorable condition that is very depressing to see for God sake. I must sound here that our research institutes must be consistently well funded with good monitoring and evaluation strategies so as to bring them back to right footing.
I must confess some of them are trying within there limited capacity as extension services is dead at the states level and this must be revived for innovations transfer to farmers.
