Federal Government Ready for Irish Potato

There is an indication that the Federal Government is about to embark on a new accelerated production plan of Irish potato.

 Government planning has started, in a closed door meeting where journalist was not invited. Stakeholders have converged to discuss on action plan about promotion of Irish potato towards achieving federal government’s food security and nutritional food program.

Irish potato has high vitamin potentials qualities that can be utilized, to checkmate nutritional deficiency in infant, women and adults, as the crop can as well be useful for home-school program of the federal government. The modalities of how the program will be carried in all producing state and some other logistic are part of the issue discussed according to food farm news findings.

The new agricultural policy of the federal government is aimed to ensure  accelerated food production, while emphasis on all the value chain , that is , production, processing and value addition, all these must have been part of the factors the planning of this produce will be tailored.
