The Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, said the current economic situation in the country is the result of laziness of Nigerians to go into agriculture.

Ogbeh stated this in Ezillo Village, Ebonyi State, during the launch of “One man, one hectare” Agric policy of Ebonyi State Government.

He said the over-dependence of the last administration on oil and imported goods crippled the country’s economy. He assured that the current government is making efforts to correct the situation. He stressed that the government’s policy on agriculture will assist the country in overcoming the economic challenges.

At the flag-off of the programme, the minister presented cheques and tractors to beneficiaries.
