The 2016 budget

2016 budget
The 2016 budget recently presented to the joint session of the National Assembly (NA) by PMB has tactical placed agriculture at the subsidy end unlike the Education, Defence, Interior, Health ministries that were conspicously mentioned with high proposal for approval.

My curiosity and bane is based on the earlier signer that 2016 budget would prominently give agriculture and solid mineral upper priorities towards economic repositioning occasioned by dwindling crude oil price to creating alternative wealth and job. In the face of local content to import substitution, more attention must be sufficed into food security beyond subsidy as there are other bigger farmers that also needed support. More funding budget support must be channelled for approval at NA to fund research, production and marketing.

Although i acknowledge the energy and infrastructural support the budget galvanized but beyond subsidy, agriculture requires more attention than any other sector to curb youth unrest, and importantly an empty stomach cannot respond to any kind of treatment talkless of education or energy to defend other. God bless Nigeria.
