Millions Naira FG Vitamin "A" cassava wasting in SW


The Federal Government ( FG), World Bank project supposedly meant to boost nutritional vitamin A cassava cuttings for edible tubers against year 2023 may have been stalled as millions of these items are already laying waste at the office of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), South West, Ibadan. Wheat: Lake Chad ED solicits FG, States/Local Govt support, commends FMAN


The Executive Director (ED) Lake Chad Research Institute (LCRI) Prof. Baba Gana Kirba has called upon the three tiers of Government to ensure the transfer of new improved wheat varieties recently approved by the National Varietal Release Committee ( NVRC)get into the hands of farmers in all the cultivating states of the federation, just as he commended the support of Flour Millings Association of Nigeria (FMAN) towards the crop productivity.

Cocoa: FG approves plan, stakeholders set for commission bill


The Federal ExecutiveCouncil  (FEC) under the former President Mohamadu Buhari has approved a ten (10) year plan for the development of cocoa production in such a way to reflect what is obtainable in other neighboring countries. Meanwhile a proposal has also been put in place by the stakeholders for a bill that will see to the extablishment of a cocoa commission in Nigeria.

The Federal Government (FG) Varietal Release Committee (VRC) now chaired by Prof. Olusoji Olufajo has officially registered and released about (10) seed varieties from wheat, maize and potato for more food productivity towards economic empowerment of farmers with food surplus to Nigerians.
