The Federal Government (FG) and other stakeholders have disagreed over the sale and trafficking of donkeys in Nigeria, just as a bill to ensure the stoppage of the sale passed the second reading at the National Assembly. This disagreement emerged at the recently held stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja last week.

FG to ameliorate flood effects on farmers, says minister

  Kebbi, Jigawa, others lose 95% crops to flood



The minister of agriculture, Alhaji Mohammadu Sabo Nanono has promised that the Federal Government would give inputs of seed, chemicals and fertilizer to farmers affected by the flood. He made the disclosure at a press conference preceding the World Food Day.

AFAN dispute: Parallel office opens as FMARD absent






The dispute in All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN) leadership takes another dimension with a parallel headquarters office being commissioned by the Mallam Faruk Mudi led faction at Abuja by the Deputy Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Nasiru just as officials of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) are not physically present but its agricultural implements for distribution were sited.

All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria has called on all its members to be wary of paying into any fictitious account number for any substandard agricultural implements from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) under the present minister, Alhaji Nanono Sabo. This was in a press release made available to Food Farm News yesterday that was signed by the National President of the Association, Architect Kabiru Ibrahim.

Exporters decry apex bank’s policy on domiciliary account

The Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association of Nigeria (FACAN) has condemned the policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) disallowing exporters from having unlimited access to their foreign domiciliary account to pursue export. President of the group, Dr. Victor Iyama stated this during a press conference held yesterday at the sesame seeds headquarters office in Abuja.
