The meeting of Association of Yam Farmers, Processors and Marketers, Nigeria meeting going on at Federal. Ministry of Trade and Investment, Abuja. In the Middle, the President, Prof. Simeon V. Irtowange, at Right, Nat. Secretary, Mr. Musa Adam and left, Nat. Deputy President Mr. Nissan Damoerom. The association debunked the African Independent Television (AIT) report on ban of Nigerian yams in UK saying the story is a misrepresentation and contrary to what is presently going as the yams are currently in the market being purchased.

Africa: Can Africa Feed Itself?

With a food import bill of Africa hovering around $35 billion per annum, can Africa feed itself?
This question in
the context of food security was on the front burner of a meeting of
African journalists that was organized by Media for Environment,
Science, Health and Agriculture (MESHA), a Kenyan-based organization and
the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), a leading research and
advocacy think tank based in New Delhi, India.
