Capital funding affects food security programs

There are great indications that the non-release of funds to execute food security capital projects had taken a negative toll on the nation. Food Farm News gathered.

Findings revealed that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security ( FMAFS) has lately not been executing any capital projects through budget funding, as a source told us that scarcity of funds was exceptionally prevaling in the year 2026, thereby leading to many projects being left undone to enhance food security.

Our source confirmed that funds from the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ( PBAT) were the saving grace for some of the few capital projects, but which are not directly under the control of the FMAFS.

It was gathered that some projects being executed under the office of the wife of President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope agenda were portrayed as being executed by the FMAFS, which was argued could generate claims for accountability that the ministry may not be able to defend since the funding did not emanate from them.
