Today, His Excellency, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun flagged off the harvesting of rice planted by Ogun State Government supported youth. 
The rice which was planted in March 2020 during the COVID- 19 lock down was used as a focal point for flagging off the wet season rice harvest under Ogun State Government in partnership with value chain development project (VCDP).

The Ogun youth rice production enterprise which operate presently in all rice growing locations in the state had earlier harvested dry season rice very early in the year and are still planting new fields while harvesting, this signifies all year rice production in Ogun State.
Present at the occasion include the permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, the Honourable commissioner for Agriculture, Senior special Assistant to the Governor for Agriculture, All directors in the ministry of Agriculture, Member of Ogun State House of Assembly representing the location, project coordinator Ogun state VCDP project, Chairman Obafemi Owode Local Government, Traditional rulers, village heads and others. The earlier decision by His Excellency Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun to authorise and support farming activities during COVID 19 extensive lockdown with health and safety advice is beginning to yield fruits.
