AfDB, Ogun State partner on cargo airport for produce



The President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina has promised to support Ogun state government in her drive to upscale agricultural productivity through the establishment of cargo airport that will uplift agricultural produce to immediate point of demand outside the country.

 
Dr. Adesina disclosed this during his visit to the Governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun immediately after the first day of the year.

This cargo airport extablishment was part of the promise made during campaign to ensure that Ogun state become African food basket by His Excellency as the port would be a market pulling force for the agricultural produce to the other countries in the continent.

In this regards, the AfDB President has promised to give support for infrastructural funding that would enhance the establishments of the airport together with world class Agric and wood processing zone in the state.
However, the Governor, Prince Abiodun reiterated  readiness to make the state a full basket of the world while his Senior Adviser on Agriculture, Dr. Samson Odedina also promised the cooperation of agro farmers in the state towards the project as it would be another source of empowerment for the people.
