Demand for Nigerian produce soars in Brazil, says FACAN representative




Brazilians at the recently concluded trade fair held at Novotel Hotel, Sao Paulo Brazil rushed at buying all the Nigerian agricultural processed products at the Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations of Nigeria stand where products like shea butter, ginger, turmeric, castor and others were all bought because of their health uses.

Mallam Ali Lawan who represented the President of FACAN, Dr. Victor Iyama at the fair told Food Farm News that Brazilians from various cities in Brazil thronged  the stand and were very excited and impressed about the Nigerian products to the point that they all rushed to buy all agricultural processed products on his association stand and that some were even taken for more laboratory analysis adding that ‘’ the Brazilians fell in love with Nigerian products for their efficacy to meeting their health treatment requirement”.

He commended government’s policy on assistance to enhancing more of the processed agricultural products stressing the need for more of such supports that would enhance export, especially to country of where there is high demand like Brazil.

The Nigerian entourage was led by the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI) Hajia Aisha to the event which took place in Brazil last month.
