U.S. CORN CROP REACHES 81% PLANTED

DES MOINES, Iowa — The U.S. corn planting pace and crop emergence catch up with average estimates, as the trade expected.

Meanwhile, soybean seeding is over halfway finished.

CORN

In its Weekly Crop Progress Report Monday, the USDA rated corn planting at 81% complete vs. an 81% five-year average.

USDA pegged 50% of the corn crop as emerged vs. the 47% five-year average.

SOYBEANS

In its report, USDA pegged the U.S. soybean crop as 56% planted vs. a 44% five-year average.

USDA pegged soybean emergence at 26% vs. a 15% five-year average.

WHEAT

The U.S. winter wheat crop is pegged as 36% good/excellent vs. 36% a week ago.

USDA reported that only 79% of the U.S. spring wheat has been seeded vs. an 80% five-year average.
