Kano state commences 2 million animals vaccination

 


In a bit to ensure healthy and more productive animals for meat and milk productivity towards food security, the Government of Kano state led by His Excellency, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar  Ganduje has officially commenced the vaccination of about two million animals against any infectious disease in all the 44 local governments, just as the Fulani herdsmen and farmers are advised on ensuring peaceful coexistence. Governor Ganduje said this yesterday at the official vaccination of cattle in company of his Deputy, Dr. Yusuf Sule Gawuna at the Kadawa Insemination Centre (KIC), Kano state.

Farmers are ready to embrace NiMet APP, says President

The National President of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Architect Kabir Ibrahim has expressed that his members would be willingly ready to embrace new improved innovations like the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) Climate change applications for better agricultural production and productivity towards food security and more economic earnings. He said this at the recently held 2022 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP) of NiMet in Abuja.

The national president, National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN), Hon. Ojo Ajanaku has condemned the exploitation of farmers by foreigners who by-passed local buyers to deal directly with producers in the inner lands, saying such action is an affront on the sub sector as no Nigerian can be allowed to do such in any country.

Reason for shea butter scarcity



Scarcity of Shea butter has been attributed to the neglect of the sub sector for many years by the government despite the huge earnings of over $72m annually as the highest producer in the world.
