Farmers warn against August drought

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency ( NiMet) predictions of drought in August in the 2025 Seasonal Rainfall Prediction have been re-echoed to remind farmers of the need to get prepared.

The NiMet prediction of drought within the period of August in the South has been echoed by NGN- Geography in social media for farmers to get them prepared against the impending hazard.

The NGN- Geography news going on in the social media said that many farmers across the nation are currently not aware of the looming flash drought expected to begin by late July to mid or late August.

Food Farm News checked this information from a reliable officer of NiMet, Dr. James Ijampy Adamu, who confirmed that the drought had been actually predicted in the SRP of 2025 early this year, saying that what NGA- Geography has said could be described as a reminder to farmers for proper preparation.

NGN has warned farmers of the impending 21-day drought in the North and 40 days in the South from this July and August.

Read some excerpts of the information " Flash Drought:

Aside from Taraba state, many farmers across Nigeria are currently not aware of the looming devastating flash drought expected to begin by late July to mid or late August again.

As our followers improve with new minds, I would like to notify you that we have potential possibilities of a severe and prolonged drought that may last for over 21 days in the North and nearly 40 days in the South this July and August"
