The Mechanization Centre Ilorin should be a game changer. I will expect the centre to constitute a technical team from outside to look at what is on the ground, assess the technical evaluation of the equipment, identify the suitability and the effective use, and develop an appropriate model that will facilitate the deployment.
Develop a sustainable program with Ammotrac and other institutions to train new crops of Pilots that will man these tractors.
They are simply too expensive to entrust to ill-trained operators. Develop standard operating practices for the program's workability.
Develop a monitoring application to track every single tractor and its performance on and off the field, and any other suggestions.
This can be revolutionary, but doable with will, or the Ministry takes the responsibility; otherwise, the program will be abandoned, and in 2035, we will continue again with the cycle
We had it in 2004, 2014, yet no breakthrough. There should be a breakthrough in 2025. Engr. Morufu Akeju was a former director at the FMAFS.
