NAGS- AP: Oyo AFAN chairman calls for unity

The nominated Oyo All Farmers Association of Nigeria ( AFAN) chairman Engr. Olumide Ayinla into Federal Government ( FG) inputs monitoring program has said he will use the nomination to mobilize for unity among farmers towards commercial food availability to stem down prices as only genuine farmers will be given the inputs.

Farmers in Nigeria have commended the impressive turn out of stakeholders at the recently concluded Agric Show held in Tundun Wada, Keffi, Nazarawa state, despite  the economic and political situations in the country, just as they demanded direct subsidy inputs for members.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised to improve the livelihood of Nigeria farmers from subsistence to mechanized farming with effective Commodity Exchange Commission cum repositioned Bank of Agriculture (BOA) that will be rechanneled to meet producers’ priority if he is voted as the next president, Federal Republic of Nigeria in the next 2023 February polls.

AFAN dispute: Parallel office opens as FMARD absent






The dispute in All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN) leadership takes another dimension with a parallel headquarters office being commissioned by the Mallam Faruk Mudi led faction at Abuja by the Deputy Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Nasiru just as officials of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) are not physically present but its agricultural implements for distribution were sited.

Covid 19 : Farmers, NAERLS demand for more farming incentives.


The two major  farmers’ organizations ‘’ All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria(AFAN) and Federation of Commodity Associations of Nigeria (FACAN)’’ have lent their voices to the call made by the Executive Director (ED) National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS)Prof. M.K Othman that African countries, Nigeria in particular must be ready to give agriculture a sufficient support so as to be able to overcome the COVID 19 impacts on food security.
