Northerners need a farming inclined president for 2027, says former SGF Scribe

The former Secretary to the Government of Federation ( SGF) during Muhammadu Buhari's administration,  Mr. Lawal Babachir has said the next president must come from the North so as to make agro inputs more available for farmers.

Babachir who was speaking on Arise Television during an interview said that the cost of  inputs especially fertilisers and agro chemicals are far beyond the reach of small scale farmers in the Northern Nigeria where farming was the major business, saying no farmer from his village can afford the current prices these items.

He said how many farmers can be able to buy a chemical he recently bought at N3,900 as against the initial price of N1,300 in the market especially from his village.

The former Scribe who was purposely brought to the Arise TV in order to access the one year in office of President Tinubu  said the next president must come from the North for the purpose of inputs provision and availability to farmers for increased food productions.

On the issue of grass cutting corruption allegations against him, Babachir stated that the case has been knocked out in the court saying " the judge has declared the case as no case"
