Agro dealers warn offenders, ask FG to ensure urea availability

 


In a determined effort to secure Nigeria's food sufficiency, the Nigeria Agro Input Dealers Association (NAIDA) has cautioned unscrupulous merchants against supplying fake inputs to farmers just as he urged the Federal Government ( FG) to take measures against urea scarcity.


NAIDA president, Kabiru Fara said this yesterday at the launch of agro inputs compliance and monitoring teams across the 36 states and FCT saying offenders would face stiff punishments for undermining the process as he also urged that the FMAFS to address scarcity of urea ocassioned by porous distribution.


Fara acknowledged that some agro dealers had engaged in dubious activities, and the monitoring team would address such malpractices nationwide.


 He also highlighted NAIDA's commitment to making quality agricultural inputs accessible and affordable to farmers, thus contributing to food security in Nigeria.


NAIDA president further appealed to FG on the need to intervene in addressing the scarcity of urea fertilizer.


Also speaking, the President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Arch Kabir Ibrahim, commended NAIDA for its efforts to ensure the right agricultural inputs into the reach of farmers towards ensuring food security in the country and beyond.
