The first ever agriculture and food security summit under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tunibu is slated to hold in November, 2023 at a yet undisclosed venue and date by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security ( FMAFS). This was stated in a statement made available to Food Farm News today.

It was stated that the Minister of FMAFS, Sen. Abubakar Kyari and his state colleague will be hosting stakeholders to the first ever agriculture and food security summit sometime in November, 2023. But no date, venue and time was stated.

Part of the statement read that " We have examined what needs to change and what we need to do to re align existing initiatives and program that are on course to be in line with four priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda that are core to the mandates of FMAFS.

" The Federal Ministry will be holding its first ever National Agriculture and Food Security Summit Schedule to hold in November 2023. My collegue, the Honourable Minister of state and I are totally committed to providing the desired leadership direction to steer the Agriculture and food Security sector towards the attainment of key priorities of the President's 8 point Agenda"

The statement added that the Minister has promised his leadership would explore all avenues to ensure food security sustainability by thinking beyond general norm saying that " it is a known mantra that organizations are charged to think outside the box. We at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security have decided to think without the box if we are to achieve our mandates "

  1. We. Look forward to the date & venue. The objective must be clearly spelt out in local languages in order to get the input of our indigeneous solutions to our numerous challenges from our people who cannot understabd English. Secondly, Government should aim to develop a Stretegic Policy Statements that should guide all the three tiers of Goverment on food Security Solutions. Our strength lies on our unity of purpose & direction in Nigeria. Thank you.
